Time has flown .... school holidays and the return to school.Febuary can you believe it !!!

Welcome 2012 exciting changes on the way

I must admitt it has taken a wee while for me to get motivated and start sewing again.Slowly but surely I am moving.

Just before the holidays I had the pleasure of custom designing this gorgeous cot bedding. Love the colur combination. A great unisex design tied in with a great basic colour !!!

This week a plan on making a range of cushions in the fantastic Scandinavian fabric I recieved late last year !

Happy 2012 ...what exciting new adventures do you have planned in 2012.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU

Today is all about our little princess on her 8th birthday.There will no Santa talk in this house today !!!

Nearly 9 years ago the journey begun .... I was 5 weeks pregnant and showing ALOT , I was found out that I was having twins.Only to loose one of them early on.Fast forward to the 19 week scan, we so wanted to find out the sex of the baby.Well we did only after finding that our little baby may have Edwards Syndrome or Downs Syndrome, what a terrible time.Everything ended up ok after the Amnio and we found out we had a perfectly healthy little girl !!!

I know surely nothing else could go wrong ... it goes on.Pre-eclamsia kicked in and I was hospitalised (heavily medicated) on & off until Allanah came into the world nealry 6 weeks early VERY QUICKLY.A precious tiny little bundle of pink .

At that time Guy Sabastian's song was out about My Miracle and yes you were just that xxx

The story continues 2 1/2 years of extreme sleep deprivation for all of us, as you suffered in pain with a severe case of GORD (extreme reflux).

Now you are a healthy petite little princess and we love so dearly Happy Birthday darling xx

Party Time

Childrens Hospital

This morning I woke up thinking I want to be able to give something to families that are struggling in hospital with their little ones.

We are off to Westmead on Monday for Eden;s pump preparation for his Juvinele Diabetes.Perfect time to give gifts , the children have some toys to give and I am going to give some comforters and cushions to those families with young babies.

The last time we were there I was touched by so much emotion. I explained to the kids we may not have alot of money to donate but we can be kind and give a few little gifts.

Another Project for my house I always sing this to my children

What an amazing nursery I found this on one of my long inspiring search's on Pinterest whilst I should be sleeping .... the colours are amazing.

I have been working a big custom design this week cot shirts, sheeta, bumpers the lot and a few Teepee's ans I must say I am exhausted.

Christmas is around the corner I HAVE NOT started my shopping .... I know totally crazy. My time management has not been one of my finsets points lately.It is just sew ...sew ....sew.

Late nights at Westfields ...since moving ti the South coast ther is just no good shopping centres so the hike begins driving up to Miranda ...oh so tired

Have a lovely weekend and soon I will have it all under control ... well so I keep telling myself

Growing Up

Before the blink of an eyelid your children have grown right in front of your eyes.I had an extremely mature chat with my darling 11 year old son.Having a new change in his life about to happen .Technology has advanced so much ... there is now a device called the pump.Eden has Juvinele Diabetes and the pump is a device(similar size to a pager) attached to you and has great health benefits and eleviates 12 injections,also has more flexibility with food.A big step in his life adjusting to having this connected to him FOREVER.

As a mother you feel that need to make everything ok and fix all their worries and unfortunately I can not fix this ,only support him in best way I can and stay positive.I am so proud of him and his tremendous strength .

We had our regular visit to the Childrens Hospital today and Allanah said to me "mummy some of the children are just so sick ".I must say I am not a religous person, but I did say a quiet prayer today.At this time of year we focus on gifts and stress about material things and what most families in here would want is healthy children and to share a lovely Christmas at home.

Our caring little princess Allanah is turning 8 very soon and I am styling her rather large party in a few weeknds time. Great chevron patterns, milk bottles, fairy floss and a disco .

Our little princess was featured in the latest Shop 4 Kids and looks so grown up.

This week I am working on my last custom designand it is huge.I usually do not do all the bumpers and skirts but I am this week.Flat out sewing sewing sewing and one Teepee !!!

What a week sewing day and night.Let me tell you YES something always has to give in my house !!! The baskets of washing to put away,ironing etc etc etc.Gone were the days of being perfect as I say it can wait.

This week time management is not my best friend, it is bottoms up and get these custom designs done ...
GGGrrrrrr the cranky monster lives here this week ha ha.

On a happier note my fabric I ordered 10 months ago has arrived .I know 10 months crazy hey !!!

I have been working closely with lots of expecting mums, choosing fabrics and creating nurseries that reflect the style of their homes. Creating devine looks from soft greys and bright oranges.

I also recieved the most beautiful email saying that the Vintage Set they recieved was soooo much more thatn expected and the lady was aboslutely in love with her bedding !!!

The Silly Season will be here before you know it !!! Sewing like crazy ..custom designed bedding and Teepee's for Christmas and Spring /Summer babies.

I should recieve some divine fabric over the next week ,something fresh and unisex !!

The Walk To Cure Juvenile Diabetes was such a great success reaching our Target raising over $2000 dollars woohooo.

I am hopeful that some day in the future there WILL be a cure for my little man and he doesn't have to worry about carbs, hypo's,when to eat ,how much he is eating !!!

Woohooo we raised $1,131 on our Facebook Auction over the weekend .

All in support of my darling son Eden and his Walk To Cure Junevile Diabetes held this Sunday .

Thank you to everyone that donated their amazing products and to the Winners congrats.

It was so close with our Vintage Teepee myself and the other admin's decided to give both bidders a Teepee each, as it was my business and my son ...hey why not :)

Now to get back to sewing, renovating my new studio/sewing room,designing new collection for summer,preparing T-shirts for the Walk, organising a 4th birthday party and spending time with my beautiful family ...all in a week.

Team Eden .... as my eldest son Eden was diagnosed with Juvenile Diabetes a year ago.We are doing the http://walk.jdrf.org.au/teamParticipant.asp?participantID=82 to help raise money in hope to find a cure.

As a family we have participated in the Walk for the last 5 years only now we have our own personal reason to raise money.

We have been so lucky having wonderful support from amazing fellow Handmade businesses joining

Desk Idea's

We are having an early Spring Clean and Re-vamp before Summer hits and we at the beach almost every day!!! The joys of living on the coast.Most Winter our weekends have been spent having hot chocolates and tea at Berry and Bowral.Along the way I have found the best bargains. Dave and I were just saying that it has come about that WE both have a bit of an obsession with CHAIRS.... I will share some pic's soon.

Eden's first re-vamp purchase was a black industrial chair.... he loves black,red and white.He recently got a surfboard for his birthday(ofcourse red).I was hoping to get a Parker Style Desk, but Eden is not keen on the style.Would love any Suggestions ???

Love this look !!! Now to just find a desk and start on Kai and Allanah's room.

Working with Chantelle from Forever Bliss Photography has been such a great experience.Both location shoot and studio shoots were easy,professional and the images are prouf of absolute PERFECTION.

Danni from Rock-A-Bye Baby Equipment Hire was so kind, allowing us to borrow one her Seed Pod's for our shoot and it looked fantastic.You can hire bassinetes, car seats,prams and the list goes on.All of the products are of the highest of quality and excellent brands.Pop over and check her website out !

We have just launched our new handmade knitted pouf''s ,wow they are such a hit.Custom designing so many at the moment.

I have been working with lots of parents custom designing cot and single bed sets to suit their styles and colours of nurseries also big girl/boy's room.It has been so much fun styling so many different rooms.

What a week

Well I survived the 11 year old sleep over !!! It was VERY LOUD to say the least. But Eden had the time of his life and that's all that matters.

This week is one big battle I have a photo shoot Thursday, two custom designs to sew, a market on Sunday and I am doing some Interior Design for a big firm all whislt juggling 3 children while Dave is away for work. Trying not to stress all I can say is thanks Mum ...

Looking forward to our first market in a long time Little Treasures Baby and Childrens Market at Kiama Leasure Centre 10-2pm.Looks like we be at a few more throughout the year !!!

Time to get back to the sewing machine.

Time for a change or continue what works...

On a personal note it was my big baby's 11th birthday yesterday !!!

Such a chubby little bubba ( no digital camera's back in those days I had scan this in ), he is now way too cool to come near his mummy !!! They do grow up way to fast. He took cupcakes to school to share with his class and one of the young girls had a dairy allergy so she missed out. Eden was so concerned that she was left he decided to buy her a lolly and take it to her to make her feel special !!!

I have one very compassionate young man. In the craziness of raising 3 children those moments make all worth it..

Wish me luck we are having an 11 year old sleep over party over the weekend... fun ...fun

Mother Nature

A treasured moment !!!!

Our Sunday's since moving to the south coast have been spent discovering untouched beaches along the coast, now as the cold weather is setting in, it is now country adventures.There is always a market or a jazz festival happening. So we were to Jamberoo and passed a paddock of pregnant cows.

Dave points out a cow is giving birth . Iphone in hand we witnessed one of the most amazing births of a beautiful little calf...This cow was so composed, calm and gave birth with such grace.

The kids were amazed ..what a life experience.Now this is why we moved to give the children the chance witness nature at it's best .

We have seen beautiful dolpins and the birth of a calf all in 5 months.These experiences are good for the soul .

Back to Kaile I recieved my first lot of fabrics for one of our boys ranges and I love it !!!

Keeping it in OZ

What a search ... fabric designer's are just not kind when it comes to boys fabrics. Well after weeks of searching I have ordered one part of the winter range, very excited I found an amazing Australian designer. So great to support amazing designers here in OZ.

I am also working on another ..hopefully I can pull it off !!

Then off to the studio with Chantelle to finish our photoshoot .

I saw this on PS I LOVE YOU (Facebook) and had to share it.

Totally amazing artist Nikki Catalano love her work.... so so talented.This is my favourite

A very Happy Mothers Day

What a beautiful start to my morning three little munchkins singing HAPPY MOTHERS DAY !!!

Followed by some coco pops, piklets and a cup of tea all made by the kiddies, wow they are growing up... Lots of pressies from the mothers day stall,cards, beautiful earings.

My house smells like BLISS,handmade soy candles from the lovely Sarah and Heidi at Bliss Candles.

Brunch at Berry Tea House, love living so close to the ocean and the country.The best of both worlds !!!

The Russian Caravan was lovely, but the herbal tea Heal was my favourite !!! If you are in Berry you must pop in ...

My hunt for boys fabrics, idea's , colour combinations is still on this week.I am getting closer though just hoping it all comes together...

All about boys

This week I am on a fabric hunt for the new boys winter range !!!!

The fabric world hasn't been kind to our baby boy's SSSSOOOO many prints for little girls.

Never the less I have a plan and I am positive I will find what I am after...

Finally I started on Kai's bedding and his room will be now HIS room ( not a guest room) as the summer weather has gone. No-one wants to visit the beach in the winter , so this will give us a chance to do all finishing touches the house... I have even convinced Eden to be a little daring with his new room...

This is what we love, not on the wall but the rope concept is great !!!

Wish me luck on my fabric hunt, I always have a great journey ending up somewhere fun and meet some lovely people along the way ..

Grannys parcel

Hope everyone had a wonderful Easter, I've ended up with a terrible flu.No sewing for me this week.

I just previewed our photo's from the shoot a few weeks ago WOW....can not wait to share them !!!

My sweet 91 year old Granny Smith (the kids call her purple haired granny he he) sent a parcel today with vintage childrens pattern books, fabric from 60 years ago,lace from my mum's wedding dress and her pilking sheers... skirts,cushions, tops for Allanah !!!

I think it's fair to say our creativity comes from both sides with my mum an amazing knitter, beading and sewing dancing costumes for 15 years.Her mother (little nan) can crochet anything (jealous can not crochet at all).My dad's mother (granny) an allrounder ...

Madly sewing this week finishing bits and pieces getting ready for our photoshoot this Friday with the very talented Chantelle from http://foreverblissphotography.com.au/.

I am so happy with this new winter range, I must say I have been on a very creative roll. Having so much fun, even the kids and my extented family have been involved in this range.So our business name Kaile , our family's letters all mixed together is really coming alive !!!

Eden my 10 year old son has given me such great feedback and support over the last few weeks.He said to me "mum you have done such a good job and one day you are going to be famous ". I had tears in my eyes famous I wish...

After a week off after with my little operation, getting my tubes tied ( a little sore ) I am straight back into it.

A complete single bed range to finish for Little Missy Moo a beautiful local baby boutique in Shellharbour.If your ever on a drive down to the south coast, this shop is stunning .Also 2 custom orders to fill. So glad it is raining... keeps me focused.

Kaile has some new and exciting additions this winter collection and THE MOST EXCITING part is the etxtended Kaile Family will be working on these. My very talented mum has been working hard on some new winter additions and my darling hubby and brother will hard at work xxx

Kai my 3 year old said to me today " you know your works well I want my room in yellow and green ,can you fix it nice ". So sweet ofcourse mummy will. Today we have spent the day designing Kai's room, he had alot of input ....
"Mummy you know I already have my green light, so I love that....."

Finally we moved to our dream location, Shell Cove.The south coast is such a beautifully kept little secret !!! We are so pleased to be bringing up our 3 children in such a peaceful area by the water.With plenty of renovations and great friends visiting our school holidays have been busy ,busy ,busy ...

I have had so much fun designing and decorating our new rooms.So many vision boards around, loving it !!!!

Working on the new range 2011 for Kaile is so exciting, gorgeous fresh colours and great unisex designs. So excited...hope you like them .

There is just something about the pink and the orange blend in this design it has been a fantastic seller !!!!

Most of the 2009/2010 is sold out. Sourcing new fabrics, the vintage range did so well over spring I have decided to re-run that line.

Custom order dates are coming to an end, so hurry in for that Christmas gift.Closing the 10th of December resuming the 3rd of January.

Type 1 Diabetes

A few weeks ago our eldest son Eden was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. This news was life changing, but we are all adapting quite well.

Every year our family participates in the Walk To Cure Diabetes, but this year it is closer to our hearts with the recent news. The support we have recieved from our family and friends has been amazing.

I always wanted to do something with all of my scrap fabric and use a beautiful decorations at the market stalls. I starting making garlands today with scrap fabric. Then my lovely hubby came home with a new camera for me !!! Yah

Winter Viruses are just terribe with three children... I was just saying to my GP we are so lucky that the kids do not get sick any more. Well I spoke to soon the whole family had a the flu, vommiting bug and a visit to the hospital for Allanah. We are well now...yah!

Allanah performed on stage doing her solo for the first time on Saturday. It was ironic as the estedford was at the performing arts High School I attended for year 11 and 12. Recieving Highly Commended, so beautiful ...

I have some fantastic fabrics coming, can not wait to start working on them. Two new designs are very popular at the moment for the little girls

This week has been just go go go. I have had a fun with the Eden and Allanah being on school holidays, beautiful picnics with great friends. Today we had brunch with friends at Max Brenner's yummo.... I enjoyed just as much as the kids ... and fingers crossed we have finally purchased our new house in Shell Cove, our beachside heaven !!!

Starting Monday my focus is on a few new designs for Mathilda's Market at Lane Cove, 2nd of May, so I will sewing my little heart out.

I have so many little projects coming up with Kaile...

New Fabrics

We have finally moved and I have mixed emotions. I am sad as our house was beautiful and we have had 7 great years there and excited that we are (eventually) making our sea change!!! We are now in a balet for the next release of land so fingers crossed....

I am back on track and researching new fabrics for a new collection...bright,funky,bold,vintage,soft,pastels

It was buzzing at Allies Attic on Saturday, Cronulla Sharkies

Yummy mummies and so many gorgeous pregnant yummies !!! What a day, it was go, go, go.The customers were so lovely.

Such a fantastic vibe, with a great variety of wonderful designers. My little princess and my wonderful mum were helping, so Allanah had a great shopping day.

At all the Markets I get asked all the time for boys sets.I found some great vintage car fabric and have tee-ed it up with some plain red fabric.It is one off design, so some lucky little boy will end up with a cool car nursery !!!!

Life as a mum

As a mum our role is complex....I often feel like an octopus with tentacles moving in all directions.This week they have been stretched... I can laugh now as I am sitting for a few minutes and giving myself a rest!!!

We are packing everything into storage and have plans to build in our dream location Shell Cove. My house is turned upside down,my gorgeous 2 year old Kai has cried and had tantrums all week and I must admit I have felt like crying along with him.

As I was getting ready for Allies Atiic at Cronulla tomorrow, I was thinking life whislt having three children ,moving and working with Kaile is HECTIC. I am so blessed to have a wonderful healthy family,moving to the beach and I am doing something I absolutely love with Kaile.

I am looking out the window and the weather is looking promising for a beach side market....so looking forward to it !!!!

Road Trip to Canberra

Up at 4.45am, mum and I we were set....ready for a wonderful day at our first Matilda's Market in Canberra.

The ballroom in the Park Hyatt was a fittng venue for such a stylish market. WOW what a venue...Matilda's was everything I expecetd and more... The quality and class of this market was beautful....The creativity and presentation of all the stall holders was to die for.

I would have to admitt a was a little nervous...launching Kaile is fun,exciting and sends little butterflies fluttering around in my belly.

We were so lucky to be next to Sarah from the amazing gifts created...what a talented women.I really admire her creativity...

Annie La Rue was the offical photographer for the market, Wow when I first looked at the website I had goose bumps and tears in my eyes !!!! I absolutely LOVE this site, her work, music and you can definantely see her passion in her photography...It is so captivating.This is a must to check out http://annielarue.com/

We had a wonderful day, promoting Kaile !!! So many yummy mummy's e loving our designs,interest in custom designs and comments on Kaile's unique fabric combinations!!!

Our best feedback was the excellent value for money with Kaile having reversible cot comforters and cushions.

After walking into Kai's room today, I had a moment !!! My baby had his curls cut off today, gave his dummy up 3 days ago and is toilet training. Don't get me wrong I am sooo happy about this but my youngest is becomming a BIG BOY.... I also looked at his bed linen, wow that was the first set I had ever made !!!!

Saturday 13th Feb

After a Friday night whirlwind of kaos. Our house was ready for the open house (we are hoping to make the sea change ) and packed ready Allie's Attic at Mosman...

I had a fantastic day at the markets, met some very talented fellow mummies creating something different and new. I purchased a great funky little wallet design with pencils and a pad for your handbag from mougiddy.So many great idea's out there....

Really looking forward to the next market at Cronulla....

We are into the second month of 2010 already.

Kaile has had a wonderful start to the year!!!

We are looking forward to all the Allie's Attic up and coming Markets, Mosman February 13th 10-2pm to start the year. These designer markets are a wonderful showcase of Australian designers and their unique products. If you are looking for that unique one off, beautiful handmade clothes and bedding....from Kaile of course this is the place be!!!

I will have some new designs finished anytime, so watch out for these.
